Non-invasive Prenatal Testing

We are now offering non-invasive screening tests for high (and low) risk mothers. These tests are able to detect the baby’s DNA in the mother’s blood as early as 10 weeks into the pregnancy and can identify some chromosomal disorders including Down’s syndrome.

Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is a screening method for detecting certain specific chromosomal abnormalities in a developing baby. The testing method is a sophisticated blood screening that examines fetal DNA in the maternal bloodstream. Safe for both mother and baby, NIPT can detect a number of chromosomal abnormalities in addition to Down’s syndrome.
